What We Believe at Unite

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.

We believe the Holy Bible alone is the authoritative Word of God, and is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant, thus reliable for reproving, correcting, and instructing us for all areas of life.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for the saints, and will return again in power and glory.

We believe man was created in the image of God to know Him and enjoy Him, but rejected God’s rule, and fell. Because of this rejection, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world. Man’s only hope of redemption is in the belief of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe salvation is a free gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. For one to be saved and restored to fellowship with God, one must repent and confess with his mouth and believe in his heart Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We believe upon salvation, one receives the gift of the Holy Spirit who regenerates, convicts, justifies, sanctifies, TRANSFOMS and adopts us into the Kingdom of God as sons and daughters. It is through the Holy Spirit that the Christian is enabled to live a holy life, and to be empowered to be witnesses to expand God’s kingdom.

We believe the Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the Church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. We believe all the spiritual gifts that were given to the church in Acts are still alive today in believers.

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in Jesus Christ.

We believe in the sacraments of water baptism in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and of communion, which is taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

We believe in the healing of the sick as illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and is included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It’s also a part of Jesus’ work on the cross, and is one of the gifts of the Spirit.
